Willow Wind Organic Farms, Inc. recognizes the importance of offering the consumer a choice in what they eat. That is a primary reason for our decision to grow and produce organically. We feel that the same philosophy applies to Genetically Modified Organisms, or GMO’s. We are committed to adhering to a strict policy forbidding the use of genetically modified ingredients or processing aids in our products. In addition, we offer a quality certificate for the products we sell that not only guarantees the quality, but also that the listed product is free of GMO’s. This is a process claim, and is intended to guarantee that GMO’s are not permitted during any phase of production. Furthermore, every effort has been made by Willow Wind Organic Farms, Inc. to protect its organic product from contamination. As with pesticides, the prohibition does not ensure that every product is completely free from trace contamination due to uncontrollable outside forces such as pollen drift. The possibility for unavoidable residual environmental contamination does exist, and present research does not contain enough data to set scientifically defensible rejection levels. We support regulations that would halt or limit practices that bring such contamination into contact with our products, and support current research efforts to identify these practices as well as contamination risks and levels. As always, we will continue to adhere to the most rigorous standards and practices for organic production.
